This piece was created as the cover of my end of year port folio last year. I took a few different aspects of a few of the works i had done and put them all together as one.
I know I've used a lot of negative space with the white and I could fill it up, but I really wanted to keep it fairly clean and simple.

i personally like the flow and the composistion of the design. More so, it generates the feel of retro and class. Good thinking Marissa... i like it.
Hi Marisa,
The first thing that hits me when looking at your work was that the lady was the main focus of the design.
Though I would of thought the title would of been as of the magnitude of the work so everyone knows it's Marisa's work.
The white space as you mentioned I find a bit to white, to much negative space.
It's probably because of how detailed and how nice the bottom looks which the lady leaning on the car with the retro bricks and such, and then the top is so bare.
The bee also I don't think fitted real well were it was placed, maybe something bigger would of been nicer then a bee placed over the top.
Negative space is great, but I think you left to much in this case.
But in saying this, it would catch my eye with the lady with the car as it is quite out there and in your face.
Hmmm .... this one is going to stretch me to comment on. I'm going to work my way through some of the elements ...
Line: There are many ... the bees trajectory, the pole, and hair piece for the fairy girl, the lines on the car and shadow underneath, the angle of the squares. They are interesting in a collage / mosaic kind of way. My eye, however is left wanting for a focal point ... it gets drawn mainly between the two figures - fairy and car, and can't seem to sort out what is dominant.
I wonder if you could have experimented with lines to point towards a focal point or a consistent horizon perspective.
I agree with Mykes's comments on class look and there is a simple elegance in how you put it all together ... it sort of says that you are a high end classy designer and that I'd have to pay you a good sum to do a design for me.
