Think of continuance as a tool to take your viewer from one spot to a next. In your example the dots to show a trajectory of the bee but they don't really take you anywhere ... think of the line through the letetr H in our Gestalt examples and how it literally pulls your eye to focus on the maple leaf ...
Keep working this principle Marisa - as I do think your cool ideas will benefit from drawing viewers into a focal point and creating dominance in your designs.
